Notice on Mandatory COVID-19 Negative Certificates for China-bound Passengers Before Boarding
2020-09-24 21:25

According to the joint announcement of the Civil Aviation Administration, the General Administration of Customs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China on July 20 and the latest guidelines of the Chinese government, all passengers who are to fly from Grenada to China will be required to provide a certificate of negative Covid-19 nucleic acid test result issued within three days before boarding, starting from September 28, 2020. The details are as follows:

Foreign citizens who are to take a flight from Grenada to China and transit in a third country or region should take Covid-19 nucleic acid tests and provide a certificate of negative test result issued within THREE days before boarding. As there is no direct flight from Grenada to China, the Covid-19 nucleic acid tests should be taken within THREE days before boarding in the transit country or region. For instance, if a passenger is flying from Grenada to China via London, with his boarding date in London on October 10, the issuance date of the negative certificate should be between October 7 and 10.

The negative certificate needs to be emailed to the Chinese Embassy in Grenada at CnEmbassygrd@gmail.com/consulate_grd@mfa.gov.cn (emergency contact 4059898) once it is issued (no later than 24 hours before boarding), along with the scanned copy of the valid passport information page and the signed health declaration (see the attachment below the notice).

It usually takes one business day to process the health declaration at the Chinese Embassy. If the certificate submitted needs to be verified with the issuing agency, the processing time will be extended accordingly. After approval, the scanned copy of the health declaration will be emailed back to the passenger and needs to be printed out and carried throughout the journey. The health declaration is valid through the third day after the issuance date of the nucleic acid test certificate. Passengers are advised to travel before it expires and be prepared for checking by the airlines before boarding.

Passengers with expired Health Declaration Form will not be allowed to board and are required to conduct new Nucleic Acid Test as well as applying for new Health Declaration Form. Passengers who provide false certificates or information shall bear corresponding legal liabilities.

Please be noted that a certified Health Declaration Form is not an alternative to a Chinese visa.

At present, only Covid-19 nucleic acid RT-PCR Test negative report is accepted, antibody test or serology test result is not accepted. The institutions providing PCR test service in Grenada are as follows, appointment in advance is necessary:
