On January 25, 2022, Ambassador Wei Hongtian held a press conference on the 17th anniversary of the resumption of the diplomatic ties between China and Grenada. Reporters from GIS, GBN, WPG-10, MTV and Informer were present.

Ambassador Wei introduced the accomplishments made by China and Grenada in various fields, such as housing, infrastructure, sports, agriculture, education, human resources training and so on, as the two countries diplomatic relations on January 20, 2005. The two nations have developed their bilateral relations on the basis of mutual respect, fairness and win-win cooperation. Amb. Wei is confident that the future of China-Grenada friendship is a promising one, and he elaborated on his expectations on the bilateral relations—the two countries should be partners that firmly support each other, speed up development and reinvigorate economy together, promote China-CELAC solidarity, and ensure regional openness.

He also gave introductions to the progress and details of some bilateral cooperation projects, such as the National Cricket Stadium Rehabilitation Project and Maurice Bishop International Airport Runway and Road Rehabilitation Project.
