Chinese Embassy in Grenada Hosts an Online Reception for the 73rd Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China

    On September 30, Chinese Embassy in Grenada held an online reception for the 73rd anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Chargé d'Affaires a.i., Counsellor  Peng Wenlin delivered a speech. Invited guests, including Prime Minister Hon. Dickon Mitchell, Leader of His Majesty’s Opposition, Former Prime Minister Keith Mitchell, Chairman of Grenada China Friendship Association Garvey Louison, representative of overseas Chinese in Grenada Mr. Huang Yuezhong made congratulatory remarks.

    In his remarks, Chargé d'Affaires a.i., Counsellor Peng Wenlin said, under the strong leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and after courageous and arduous struggles, the Chinese people realized national independence and liberation. China also fulfilled its responsibilities as a global citizen, made unprecedented contribution to world peace and development. The upcoming 20th National Congress of the CPC will formulate a guideline of action and major policies for the next five years or even longer. China will continue to follow the Chinese path to modernization to achieve the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, and to promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.


    Peng expressed heartfelt thanks to people from various sectors who have supported the development of China-Grenada relations. He noted that over the past 17 years since the resumption of diplomatic ties between China and Grenada, both sides have witnessed fruitful outcomes in bilateral cooperation and supported each other on issues of our respective core interests and major concerns. As a friendly partner, China has been always strongly supporting Grenada to speed up economic and social development and improve self-development capability. He said that the Chinese side is ready to work with the Grenadian side to pass on friendship, enhance mutual trust, expand cooperation and promote the friendly and cooperative partnership to a new level.

    Prime Minister Hon. Dickon Mitchell extended congratulations to China on behalf of Grenadian Government and people, expressing his thanks for the valuable support from China over the years to the social-economic development of Grenada and the ever-enhancing friendship between the two countries. He said that as Grenada embarked the journey of people-focused development, he would like to collaborate with China to make the Grenada-China relationship from strength to strength.

    Former Prime Minister Keith Mitchell, Chairman of Grenada China Friendship Association Garvey Louison, and other representatives all praised the great achievements of the People's Republic of China since its founding 73 years ago and the exceptional contributions to global peace, development, and stability, and expressed strong support for the one-China policy and unwavering faith in the advancement of relations between Grenada and China.
